1. Drones are banned near archaeological sites and in some island airspace

Flying drones near ancient sites (Acropolis, Delphi, etc.), military zones, and some island airspace is prohibited without prior permission from the Greek Civil Aviation Authority. Fines and confiscation apply.

2. Do not remove stones, sand, or shells from beaches

Taking stones, sand, or pebbles from protected Greek beaches — including those on the island of Rhodes and Sardinia — is illegal. Some beaches have signs warning of fines.

3. Do not photograph the Changing of the Guard with a disrespectful attitude

The Evzones (presidential guard) at the Athens Parliament perform a highly choreographed ceremony. Heckling, mimicking their movements, or getting too close is offensive and will result in removal by security.
