1. Chewing gum is banned

2. Eating, drinking, and smoking on the MRT is illegal

Consuming any food or drink on the MRT system — including platforms, trains, and paid areas — carries an on-the-spot fine. Smoking is illegal in most public spaces.

3. Drug trafficking carries the mandatory death penalty

Singapore imposes the mandatory death penalty for trafficking threshold quantities of drugs: 15g heroin, 30g cocaine, 500g cannabis, 250g methamphetamine. This is enforced regardless of nationality.
