1. Drug possession for personal use is decriminalised — selling is not

Portugal decriminalised possession of small amounts of all drugs for personal use in 2001. Possession does not lead to criminal prosecution but may result in a fine or referral to a dissuasion panel. Selling drugs remains a criminal offence.

2. Do not say Portuguese sounds like Spanish or that Brazilians speak 'better' Portuguese

Portuguese people take quiet pride in their language and its distinction from Brazilian Portuguese. Suggesting the two are the same or that Brazilian Portuguese is clearer or more correct is mildly offensive.
