Watch outMarionettes and 'Bohemian crystal' on the souvenir half are largely imported. Genuine Czech crystal is cut lead glass with a maker's mark; real hand-carved marionettes come from named workshops and cost many times the stall price.
Watch outThe exchange booths along these streets advertise rates that apply only to very large sums, then apply a commission that swallows a fifth of the transaction. Use a bank or an ATM; by law you may cancel an exchange within three hours.
